Hazelnut Cake


290 g hazelnuts (chopped)
3 tablespoons all purpose four
 4 teaspoons baking powder
 3/4 teaspoon salt
6 large eggs
198g gradualated sugar
1/4 cup of canola oil

Chocolate Buttercream
170g bitter/dark chocolate
227g of unsalted butter
1 egg yollk
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
142g confectioner sugar

Prepare heat your oven to 350F. Grease 2x8cm tins and line with parchement paper
Grind the hazelnuts until finely ground in a mixer
Add the flour, salt, baking powder to the hazelnuts in a medium bowl.
Put the eggs, oil and sugar into the food processor and blend, add the nut mixture and blend.
Divide the mixture into the two tins and bake for around 22-28mins
Then leave to cool for around half an hour.

Whilst your cake is cooling. Chop your chocolate and melt over a pan of water
In a bowl beat the butter until fluffy, add the egg yolk, vanilla and salt
Beat this mixture for about three minutes. 
Add the ingredients to a mixer and mix on a low setting
Slowly add the sugar until it reaches a smooth consistent.
The add the chocolate again slowly to the mixture

Cut each cake in half so you have four in total.
Cream the mixture over each of the layer (carefully!)
The add the cream mixture to the side of the cake
